Different approaches to solving glucagon mysteries

Despite the remarkable success of GLP-1-based medicines, many questions remain about how glucagon-related hormones work in the body. Glucagon was discovered over 100 years ago, but its biological activity and physiological regulation have been widely overlooked. In this tandem seminar, two excellent BRIDGE-programme researchers will present complementary clinical and experimental approaches to understanding how these hormones regulate nutrient metabolism and blood sugar control.

Combining insights from animal models, and human studies, the speakers will show how basic and clinical research can work together to unravel important biological mysteries.
