PhD defence: Development of CRISPR-based Technologies to Define Disease Predisposition and Drug Response of Hereditary Cancer Genes and Variants

CRISPR-based functional assays provide a powerful means to define the cellular roles of variants and genes with applications in VUS classification, drug development, and basic research. However, current functional assays are non-accurate, non-flexible, low throughput, ignores the genomic background, or a combination.
We developed functional assays that eliminate shortcomings of existing methods and retain important strengths. Our assays allow accurate, flexible, high-throughput variant and gene analysis for VUS classification, drug development, and basic research.
