Career at BRIC
BRIC is a dynamic and international research centre. We offer good working and career conditions in an open and collaborative atmosphere. Our state-of-the-art research and core facilities include modern laboratories shared between 23 research groups at BRIC and Finsen Laboratory.
The research groups at BRIC and Finsen are closely collaborating. We have our own PhD programme, MoMeD, a young researchers club ASAP, scientific clubs, a Group Leader forum with regular meetings and Liaison Committee with focus on work environment. On a weekly basis, we have our BRIC-CEHA seminars with invited speakers.
To ease the daily administrative tasks for our researchers, the well-functioning BRIC administration assists researchers with HR, order and delivery, communication, funding and much more.
Internationally, BRIC actively participates in the European alliance, EU-life, consisting of 13 excellent life science research institutions. This will further strengthen and promote BRIC research and research education programme.

International employees and students (master and PhD students)
- International Staff Mobility (ISM) is UCPH international HR Departmnet. ISM supports international researchers with residence and work permit, contracts, language courses, social security, spouse support etc. They also arrange social activities for international researchers and their families.

Social activities
BRIC takes part in the yearly DHL run in September in Fælledparken. It is a relay race of 5 x 5 km and a huge and festive event with thousands of runners and supporters.
Association for students and postdocs (ASAP) organizes movie nights, Friday beers and parties. Check out ASAP web or ASAP Facebook for upcoming social events.
International Staff Mobility (ISM) also arranges activities such as lunches, guided tours and other events for researchers and their spouses and children.
Employee benefits
University of Copenhagen has set up an agreement with Fitness.dk so that UCPH-employees get special price on memberships. UCPH is also starting up a running club and participates in "We bike to work".

Language Schools
Denmark offers excellent (often free) language courses if you need to improve your Danish language skills. There are courses at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Visit Studieskolen or CIP.
The BRIC Alumni Association is a joint initiative from the BRIC administration as well as the Association of Students and Postdocs (ASAP).
It aims to provide a forum for anyone with a current or past affiliation with BRIC. Members have the opportunity to increase their professional network, within as well as outside academia, and to get inspired by the career choices of fellow Life Science Researchers.
The network is based on LinkedIn and we encourage alumni to keep their LinkedIn profile up to date.
